Lakers Score Late To Edge Heat 2-1
Although the Heat were edged 2-1 by the visiting Wallaceburg Lakers on Saturday in Seaforth it was one of the girls best games of the season. Both forwards and defense moved the puck well all game, opening up the ice, battling hard throughout. Their aggressive style of play and hard work has been frustrating their opponents and impressing the coaching staff. Ava Overholt scored from Lindsay Merner and Olivia Goodburn part way through the 3rd period to tie the game at 1 before the Lakers scored the winner a few minutes later. The Heat pulled the goalie for an extra attacker in the last couple minutes but couldn't get the equalizer. Next action is this Friday night in Lucan at 7:30 vs the Irish, should be a good one.
