Total Team Effort Leads To 2-0 Win Over Lucknow In 1st Game Of Provincial Qualifying
It's PLAYOFF time and the girls are pumped !! They went into Lucknow last night and gave a total team effort overpowering the Lucknow/Wingham Sepoys by a score of 2-0. Every player competed and battled hard at both ends of the ice winning the little battles needed to be won to have success in the playoffs. The coaching staff was very happy with the extra effort and desire shown by the girls in this one. Hailee Masse & Cayla Hoffman scored 1st period goals on assists from Kristen Scott & Emma Ducharme and the Sepoys never did find the back of the net. Goaltender Olivia Wightman had a great outing, picking up her 9th shutout of the season.
It was a strong start for the Heat in the OWHA Peewee C Provincial qualifying round. After a home & away round robin series with Lucknow, South Huron & St. Mary's the top 2 records qualify for the 16 team provincial championship tournament in April.
