Solid Team Effort Leads To 6-0 Win Over Lancers
The girls were very impressive today in Lambeth as the rolled over the Lancers by a score of 6-0. It was no doubt their most complete effort of the season from puck drop till game end. All three lines moved the puck well and thought about plays before they made them, whether it be D to D, F to D or head man passes. they battled hard and never let up all game. It was great to see all the smart 'hockey plays' everyone was making.
Kristen Scott, Erin Mathers, Jilaine Dunn, Kailey Hallahan, Meg Fritz, Olivia Goodburn, Emma Ducharme and Hailee Brown all had stellar games. Isabella Hurley led the way offensively with a 'Natural Hat Trick' scoring 3 goals in the same period. Other goal scorers were Cayla Hoffman, Hailee Masse and Ava Overholt. Picking up assists by digging hard in the corners and making some nice passes up from the point were Brooke Kootstra, Erica Maloney, Sami Regier, Lindsay Merner (2) and Masse. Olivia Wightman didn't have a whole lot of work in goal, but was up to the task when she did picking up her 9th shut out of the season. The win improves the Heat record to 5-0 in WOGHL Divisional Playoffs and guarantees them a spot in the Finals.
