Pub Night Fundraiser Has Been Cancelled
The executive has decided to cancel the upcoming pub night fundraiser. This was a tough decision because the reason we fund raise is to keep the registration costs down for families. The goal with most of our fundraising is to try and source funds from outside our association.
Reviewing feedback from people within the association, along with considering other factors that include the expenses associated with running the night itself, we felt that going forward with the pub night would not gain the association the funding we hope to receive. Most families are also experiencing what We would call “fundraising fatigue” which comes from fundraising requests from schools, minor hockey, band, girl guides and the list goes on.Going forward we will keep looking for opportunities and ideas to raise funds outside the association. The executive directors currently fill a lot of different roles and we need volunteers to help us explore these options as they come available. If anyone feels they can contribute, it would be much appreciated. In the end fundraising keeps our registration costs down.
We will still be holding the fundraising cash draw on Nov 19. for the fundraising tickets.
Volunteers that were signed up to help with pub night will be asked to contribute to helping out with tryouts in the spring and other fundraising opportunities as they arise.
Thank you,
Huron Heat Executive
