Covid Update: Resume of Games
Hello Huron Heat Families:

Following the provincial announcements this week, the Huron Heat executive would like to announce that all hockey activities will resume as of Monday, January 3rd, 2022. Games and practices will resume and continue to run as scheduled along with the regular WOGL and OWHA league schedule.  Canceled games will be rescheduled where possible, please check the website frequently as games are rescheduled.

As we navigate through the coming weeks, we ask for everyone's understanding, kindness and respect.  As always, our Huron Heat families are encouraged to make decisions based on the provincial health guidelines and what is best for their family at the given time.  We know that there will be players/families on our teams and opposing teams that will need to isolate or may not feel comfortable participating at different times. We understand that this is an unprecedented time in the world and each team will continue on with the season on a game by game, practice by practice basis.  Please provide your player's coach with as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend a scheduled practice or game so that referees and opposing teams can be notified of any cancellations.

At this time, the province, OWHA and our local health unit has placed no specific restrictions for youth sports and have given the go ahead for these activities to continue with health and safety guidelines in place.  We will continue to closely monitor and follow all health and safety expectations and recommendations from the province, health unit, OWHA and our arenas.

We remind all players/coaches/parents/spectators to continue to follow all provincial guidelines and to complete the mandatory digital health check screening prior to all on ice activities.  Players are also reminded to wear a mask in the dressing rooms until they put their helmet on to enter the ice surface.   Also, please note that beginning January 4, 2022, Ontarians will be required to use their vaccine certificate with an official QR code to access businesses & settings that are under the provincial proof-of-vaccination system to show being fully vaccinated. Vaccine receipts without a QR code will no longer be accepted as valid proof of vaccination.  With your postal code and green Ontario health card, you can download or print your vaccine certificate on the provincial portal.  If you have a red and white health card, call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900. If you do not have a health card, please contact Huron Perth Public Health.
