Heat 1 Goal Shy Of Qualifying For Provincials
The girls played their hearts out, outplaying the St. Mary's Rock for most of the game, but the Rock hung on for a 1-1 tie. With South Huron & Lucknow tying their game earlier, the Heat needed the 2 point win to qualify for Provincials, but fell just short. It was a tough one to take, but the girls should be proud of themselves for their effort and the way they played. They were also very classy in the process. The Rock opened the scoring part way through the 2nd, before the Heat battled back with one minute left in the second to tie it, but couldn't put another one by the Rock tender in the 3rd.
The team would like to thank all the fan support in this one, from family and friends to other players and members in the Heat organization. The girls season is not over as they play in the Goderich Young Canada Week tournament this weekend and begin the WOGHL Division 2 Playoff best of three Finals in the near future vs the West Oxford Inferno.
